Your inner Iron lady!

Just watched the film - not going to lie, thought it was epic! But here's a thing what could we all achieve if we set our heads and our hearts to it!
She was an epic leader of our generation - a leader not a manager.
So why do so many THINK and so few DO? Is is simply a fear of failure, or a fear of sucess? is it the fear of being held accounatble and not stepping out of that comfort zone, so the fear of something paralises action.

Are those who do nothing therfore making it all about them? Sometimes the hardest thing to grasp about leadership is that it is not about you. It’s easy to make it about us. We want to do something, so naturally we push; when actually we should be pulling by considering the needs of others first. In leadership, as with so much in life, the more we give, the more we have.
So be an abundant giver and enjoy. L x

It started with an eye cream & evolved into a global business!

It did honest - it started with an eye cream and evolved into a booming global business in less than 3 years. A business model that is sheer genius and supported by cutting edge premium products that actually do what they claim to do. Genius! It earned me a white Mercedes, gifts, friends, personal growth and so much more. The ability to "retire" from corporate and spend more time with my family.

Just wanted to say..

A friend sent this to me today - just wanted to share..

Written by a 90 year old

This is something we should all read at least once a week!!!!! Make sure you read to the end!!!!!!

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
family will.

5.Don't buy stuff you don't need.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for things that matter.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye But don't worry; God never blinks.

16.. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful.  Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to be happy.  But it’s all up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't
save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will
this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive but don’t forget.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd
grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have not what you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will,
forward this with the title '7%'.

I'm in the 7% . Friends are the family that we choose.

I had a great week this week...

The running is going ok - although me in a Clic Sargent vest is not attractive :(

Life is busy, very busy... a busy business week, a wonderful team meeting on Thursday night - full of laughter and fun. A super business week. Running was ok, my husband's parents arrived yesterday, so we've been 7 for every meal - I love a house full, but NOT the washing up!

My eldest daughter has suspected whooping cough - but get this the blood test will take 2 weeks to arrive, by which time the antibiotics would have worked and it'll all be over - go figure!! Then there is the situation with the public health situation. So she got it from school in December, but as she is now on antibiotics she can't go back to school until day 5 of the antibiotics. Has the world gone mad with PC??? So the GCSE mocks are rescheduled, and she has another 4 days at home... She is delighted, not that poorly and thinks she can watch 4 days of America's Next Top Model & The Kardashian's. She's just gutted there is no Gossip Girl on!!
Then there is the little one (12) who had to go Blaise this afternoon to be baptised (???), as part of a RS homework, so she could in january!! be filmed being baptised in a local river and dressed as Jesus... seriously??? Where is the sense in that??

So a friend called, said she was in town for an hours appointment, and suggested a coffee, I went and didn't go for a family walk in Blaise. I had a lovely time - my decision didn't go down well.

So I saw one of my oldest friends today, she's not old - just our friendship. We just snap into a wonderful warm and happy chat. Would it be easier i wonder just to ship all your best friends in the world and live on this fantastic happy island - a "BFF island."

I guess we'd miss our men folk - well I would miss Cheesy, so could we just ship them in when required?

Cooked Chinese at home tonight - then a James bond fest with all the kids and the parents in law, the I am going to collapse... running in the morning... night night

Happiness this way please??

Deal with the past so it wont ruin the present

Here are some of her suggestions:
• Take a 10-30 minute walk every day and while you walk, smile
• Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
• Sleep for seven hours
• Live with the three Es:  Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy
• Read more books than you did last year
• Drink plenty of water
• Eat more food that grows on trees and plants and less food that is manufactured in plants
• Smile and laugh a lot
• Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip
• Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6
• Don’t take yourself too seriously:  no-one else does!
• Don’t compare your life with that of others:  you have no idea what their journey is about
• Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present
• The best is yet to come

Here's to your happiness.. L xx

10 ways to help your body detoxify

After a detoxification program, you can cleanse your body daily through diet, supplements and lifestyle practices.
1. Eat plenty of fiber, including brown rice and organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are excellent detoxifying foods.

2. Cleanse and protect the liver by taking herbs such as dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle, and drinking green tea.

3. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.

4. Drink at least two quarts of water daily.

5. Breathe deeply to allow oxygen to circulate more completely through your system.

6. Transform stress by emphasizing positive emotions.

7. Practice hydrotherapy by taking a very hot shower for five minutes, allowing the water to run on your back. Follow with cold water for 30 seconds. Do this three times, and then get into bed for 30 minutes.

Principles should never be compromised...

"Strong men don’t compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised."Andrew Carnegie

There are many people in your life who love you, many people who say they love you, and many people who do not love know you to love you. So what have I learnt: be true to yourself, be authentic, genuine and generous. Smile at people and talk to strangers - it'll probably make their day!

2011 had amazing highs (my girls, getting married at my ripe old age to Mr fabulous) and some low lows....but my principles remained steadfast.

So be kind to yourself and make time for yourself. Be clear what is and what is NOT acceptable and be absolutely crystal clear about your principles, what is important to you, who is important to you, what behaviour you are willing to accept and what you are not. Sure there are times when, for the greater good you may have to "suck it up" - and that is OK, but be clear about your principles as principles should NEVER be compromised.

yours thoughtfully... Linda x

Are you a Flip Flop CEO?

I cannot take credit for the cool title, it was coined by an amazing mother and daughter duo Janine Finney & Lory Muirhead. You NEED to read the book, their story and teachings are inspirational.
Life is busy, hectic and after 8 days at home with my lovely family I'm ready to get back to work - but at my pace and with MY rules. So now I plan my work around my life rather than my life around my work - do you?

This is an extract from their website, a step by step question to help you get curious...

If not, have a think, but not for too long, then choose your flip flops and lets talk. Linda xx
